An Instructional Tool for Teaching About Language Development and Assessment through Language Sample Analysis

The Instructional Site License is licensed to colleges and universities for classroom and clinical teaching only. The software may be installed and activated on any number of university-owned computers or networks at a single campus. It may only be used for classroom instruction and for clinical services associated with student training. It may be used on systems set up for remote access as long as access to the software is restricted to instructors and currently-enrolled students. It may also be used on computers which are lent to students and returned upon graduation. The software may not be installed in research labs or on student-owned computers. This is the same software included with the Clinical license.

The software includes a transcription editor, standard reports, and reference databases for age-matched comparisons. 

SALT for Windows® and Mac computers. SALT was developed as Windows software. To provide a version of SALT which runs on Mac computers, SALT partnered with CodeWeavers, Inc. Using Code Weavers' CrossOver software, SALT for Windows is installed inside a virtual Windows environment. This version looks and runs a lot like any other Mac program although you may notice a slight delay when it starts up and you will notice a difference in the file system. But the best news is, there's no Windows license required; everything you need is included with the software.

Includes the SALT Reference Book as a PDF file accessed from the Help menu

The SALT Reference Book provides the conceptual background of language sample analysis, practical guidelines for using SALT, and extensive appendices for quick reference to all the database protocols, transcription conventions, special coding, and more. A PDF copy of this book (USA version) is included with the software. Students may also purchase a PDF copy of the textbook to access on their personal computers.
